We celebrated Onam at our school on September 9th, 2016 with various programmes. Our most senior teacher, Girija ma’am delivered the Onam message to our students. The celebrations started with ‘athapookkalam’. Students from all the classes took part in different games such as tug of war, musical chair, passing the ball, drawing an elephant’s tail, visit of Mahabali, etc. Girls from class XII performed our very own traditional dance form, Thiruvathira, and boys from class XII performed a group dance. To add sweetness to the celebration, payasam was distributed to all.
In the midst of all these fun filled activities, Amma’s children did not forget to share their joy with the needy. The weekly collection of rice was distributed to sixty families in a colony for their Onam celebrations.
